DACC (Dog and Cat Coalition) Regional Event Indonesia 2026 will mark the launch of DACC’s Guidelines on Humane Response to Dog Population Issues. While the guidelines focus on dogs, the discussions and workshop sessions will also address cat population-related cases, reflecting challenges commonly faced across different regions in Indonesia.
Through a combination of presentations, panel discussions, and an interactive workshop, the event aims to support better alignment, communication, and collaboration among animal welfare NGOs and government bodies in responding to dog and cat population-related issues in a humane and sustainable way.
DACC Regional Event 2026 is held in concurrent with the SMACC Global Summit 2026.
OUR GOALS
Bringing together different voices and perspectives, this event will address dogs and cat issues in Indonesia by:
-
Launching and introducing DACC Guidelines on Humane Responses to Dog Population Issues, a practical framework to encourage humane, sustainable, and evidence-based response to dog and cat population issues in Indonesia.
-
Creating a space for stakeholders to share on-the-ground experiences, challenges, and lessons learned in responding to past dog and cat population issues.
-
Unpacking the root causes behind mass killings of dogs and cats, including public health and safety concerns, overpopulation, negative perception towards animals, and misinformation from the media.
-
Strengthening coordination and communication among key stakeholders, including animal welfare NGOs, government bodies, and veterinarians, on humane, evidence-based approaches to dog and cat population management.
